SZN | B&W

SZN’s B&W (black and white) collection draws inspiration from dazzle camouflage: complex patterns of geometric shapes in contrasting colours, interrupting and intersecting each other.

Unlike other forms of camouflage, the intention of dazzle is not to conceal but to mislead and distract, so it is not known which course an object takes.

The patterns on these garments are created from carefully positioned deconstructed upcycled textiles, reconstructed into wholly new shapes and forms. These garments, like the dazzle effect, ask us to contemplate material flow. What is waste? What are resources? How do we value garments at every stage of their lifecycle?
